The Company

We’re The Sampling Project. We’re a full-service, integrated sampling agency who specialise in Sampling Smarter - essentially being more creative, more efficient, more cost-effective and more targeted at getting brands to consumers in the right way. We work across all sampling channels from large scale experiential campaigns to smaller brand to hand activations, direct-to-home to subscription boxes, events to trade, digital to social, partnerships to retail… and everything in between.


We typically work with FMCG brands across fresh, confectionary, snacks, drinks, fitness and health & beauty so a range of fun, creative categories.


The Role 

Ensuring client satisfaction across all areas of account management and implementation of client projects from brief and strategy to conception, delivery and reporting. You will be responsible for ensuring your projects are delivered on time, on budget and to the Agency’s standards, however that may be required. This is a full-time hybrid role based in London, offering flexibility to work both on-site and remotely.


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Effectively leading the day-to-day communication with clients to ensure they are kept up to date with all aspects of activity (regular phone and email contact) as well as leading face-to-face meetings. Seeking advice intermittently by senior management (as and when appropriate) 
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues, clients, staff and suppliers through suitable and articulate communication at all stages of the campaign processes to ensure the campaigns aims and objectives are exceeded. 
  • Comprehensive understanding of the creative, print and production management processes that allow you to manage the relationship and process independently to ensure campaigns are planned and delivered in line expectations as well as ensure margin targets are met (or increased) 
  • Lead all associated administration and reporting for the purpose of project management by ensuring documents (i.e. contact reports, status’ and evaluations) are recorded and produced correctly so that information can be shared with clients accurately and in a timely manner 
  • Manage and produce suitable campaign plans and schedules for activity in a clear and suitable format, in line with company processes, cost efficiencies and client brief. 
  • Produce accurate estimated costs and timing plans that can be shared with client in a timely manner and in line with company processes 
  • Effectively manage the financial process end-to-end. You’ll lead the management of all spend against the campaign job number to ensure margins are met by managing internal profit forecasts as well as keeping contingency allowances up to date to facilitate quick, accurate reporting & client invoicing at campaign end. 
  • Pro-actively keep colleagues, clients and suppliers updated on progress of tasks as well as ensuring deadlines are met 
  • Keep appraised of the sampling landscape, as well as the company’s client’s sectors. Sharing suitable information with colleagues (as and when appropriate). Experiential understanding and experience is essential here, the rest can be learned on the job. 
  • Support the Directors and get involved on new business pitches by preparing client costings, identifying opportunities with existing clients and being pro-active in your research by thinking outside the basic parameters of a brief.

  • Strong account management skills, including building client relationships and overseeing projects

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft packages including; Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as the ability to learn other platforms quickly

  • Proven ability to lead projects, meet deadlines, and manage budgets effectively
  • Knowledge of consumer insights, marketing trends, and the sampling landscape
  • Experience in managing cross-functional teams and collaborating with external partners
