Academy Selection Manager
New Today
At St. James's Place, we're committed to helping people achieve financial wellbeing with confidence. A key part of that mission is ensuring we continue to welcome exceptional individuals into our Academy - people with the mindset, values and potential to become successful financial advisers and future leaders within our Partnership.
As an Academy Selection Manager, you'll play a meaningful role in shaping this future talent. You'll assess and select candidates based on who they are and what they could become - not just their experience today. Your work will directly influence the quality, diversity and long‑term success of our Adviser population.
- You'll deliver a structured, insightful assessment process that focuses on the attributes that matter most at SJP - pride, grit, resilience, trainability and a genuine ambition to grow as a professional.
- You'll guide individuals through a clear, engaging journey, helping them understand the opportunity ahead while ensuring decisions are transparent, evidence‑based and aligned to our standards.
- You'll work closely with our Business Partnering, Regulatory Authorisations and BSP teams, as well as local Practices, to ensure every candidate is assessed objectively and supported into the right environment to thrive.
- You'll also contribute to our Transfers process, reviewing individuals moving between Adviser and Business Owner roles and providing valuable insight into their capability and readiness.
- You'll maintain accurate MI, share meaningful updates with stakeholders, and contribute to ongoing improvements in our selection and assessment approach.
What You'll Bring
We're looking for someone who understands what makes an outstanding Financial Adviser - someone with strong judgement, a passion for spotting potential, and the confidence to make well‑reasoned decisions.
You'll have:
- Experience delivering structured assessment and selection processes within Financial Services.
- Confidence interviewing and identifying talent, with the ability to inspire candidates about the Academy opportunity.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to operate within established frameworks.
- Clear, independent judgement and the ability to make evidence‑based decisions.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
- An interest in continuous improvement.
- Willingness to train in psychometrics, including Hogan.
