My client is seeking a 3rd Line Messaging Applications Engineer with Solaris and Windows to be based onsite in Basingstoke. You will play a key function in the stability and performance of legacy and modern messaging systems through incident resolution, problem management, and proactive service support. This is a permanent role paying between £48K - £55K + 3% Bonus + 10% DV Bonus. DV / SC Clearance is essential for this role.
Responsibilities include:
Manage incidents: log, triage, assign, and resolve using agreed toolsets and processes
Conduct root cause analysis and ongoing problem investigations
Monitor and support Nexor X500 DSA and Exchange 2003 messaging systems
Liaise with intermediary customer contacts to resolve end-user issues
Skills and Experience:
Strong knowledge of SMTP, X400 messaging, and X500 addressing
Experience with Nexor DSA and address book replication
UNIX scripting skills and experience with Solaris 10
Oracle 8–10g database experience
Exposure to Interoperable C4I Services (ICS)
It would be an added advantage if you had experience of the following, or would be willing to learn:
Microsoft Exchange 2003 and Server 2003
Active Directory fundamentals
