As part of QRT’s Security team, you will help protect the core of our global technology infrastructure. Working alongside our Cloud, Infrastructure, and Network Operations teams, we design and implement the security controls that defend QRT’s high-performance platforms against evolving threats. By embedding security into every stage of our engineering and operations, we enable QRT to innovate and trade at scale with confidence and integrity
The Security team safeguards QRT’s systems, data, and operations against cyber threats. We operate across security engineering, operations, and awareness, implementing measures to prevent, detect, and respond to vulnerabilities and incidents. Our scope includes vulnerability management, incident response, security tooling, and organisation-wide awareness initiatives. Through a proactive and collaborative approach, we ensure QRT’s technology environment remains secure, resilient, and compliant.
Your current skillset
Eligibility – Penultimate or final year students pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in a STEM discipline (e.g., Cyber Security, Informatics, Computing or related), on track for a 2:1 or above .
Passion for Technology – We’re most interested in your achievements, such as hobbies, personal projects, academic work, or open-source contributions.
Technical Skills – Examples of relevant experience include:
Basic understanding of key security principles and technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanning tools, password management, data encryption, and secure coding practices.
Programming or scripting (e.g., Python, Bash, or others)
Linux command-line (RedHat/CentOS)
Understanding of Linux/Unix system administration fundamentals
Familiarity with command-line tools and shell scripting (Bash, Python )
Knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, Ethernet)
Experience with monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus & PromQL)
Mindset – Proactive, curious, and unafraid to ask questions, with the confidence to suggest and implement optimisations that improve performance.
