A welcoming and well-regarded two-form-entry primary school in Sutton is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 4 Class Teacher to join their team on a full-time maternity cover basis for the rest of the 2026 academic year.
Set within a friendly and supportive community, this school is looking for a nurturing and motivated teacher who can provide high-quality teaching and continuity of learning during the maternity period. The headteacher is keen to appoint a fully qualified teacher with strong Key Stage 2 experience who will contribute positively to the school's inclusive, child-centred ethos.
The role will involve planning and attending a weekly staff meeting on Tuesdays until 4:45pm.
Key Responsibilities:
Take full teaching responsibility for a Year 4 class within Key Stage 2
Create a positive, inclusive and engaging classroom environment
Support pupils in developing strong literacy and numeracy skills in line with the KS2 curriculum
Assess, track and report on pupils' progress, attainment and wellbeing
Work collaboratively with year group partners and colleagues to plan and deliver high-quality lessons
Inspire curiosity, confidence and a love of learning in pupils aged 8-9
