About the Role
As a Yard Shunter, you will:
Conduct the shunting, loading, and unloading of various trailers within the depot, ensuring all units are correctly positioned in their designated delivery bays.
Support general yard operations as required to maintain a safe, efficient, and well-organised site.
Carry out thorough daily vehicle safety inspections using the company-issued mobile device to ensure full compliance and optimal performance.
Maintain regular communication with the transport team, providing timely progress updates to ensure customer expectations are consistently met.
Attend regular training sessions to stay up to date with the latest industry standards and best practices, continuously enhancing your skills and expertise.
Shunter training will be provided to company standards to ensure full competency and safety.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
Full UK car driving licence.
Forklift licence is advantageous, but not essential.
Passionate about providing excellent customer service.
Ability to work to deadlines.
Confident, polite, and a team player.
Good geographical knowledge.
Fit, flexible, hardworking, and self-motivated.
