Job Title: Workshop Foreman – Construction Plant
Location: Wellingborough
Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 per annum + Company Vehicle

Role Summary

As Workshop Foreman, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of the workshop in Wellingborough, ensuring all plant equipment is maintained, serviced, and prepared to the highest standard.

This is a hands-on leadership role, combining technical expertise with team supervision. You will manage workshop engineers, allocate workloads, maintain health & safety standards, and ensure equipment is ready for hire and customer delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and lead a team of workshop plant fitters and engineers.

  • Allocate daily workloads and manage job progress within the workshop.

  • Oversee servicing, inspections, and repairs on construction plant equipment.

  • Ensure all machines meet safety and compliance standards before release.

  • Support with complex diagnostics and technical problem-solving when required.

  • Manage workshop efficiency, parts usage, and job documentation.

  • Maintain high health & safety standards across the depot.

  • Liaise with management, hire desk, and parts departments to ensure smooth operations.

What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience working on construction plant equipment (excavators, dumpers, telehandlers, rollers, etc.).

  • Previous supervisory or senior fitter experience within a workshop environment.

  • Strong mechanical and hydraulic diagnostic skills.

  • Ability to lead from the front and motivate a team.

  • Organised, proactive, and capable of managing workshop workflow.

  • Full UK driving licence.
