Location: Eastington About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Welder to join our Production team. This role plays a key part in the manufacture of high-quality products, utilising welding skills efficiently to support operational performance and business profitability. The successful candidate will work closely with the Production Manager and wider team to deliver safe, accurate, and timely fabrication work. Key Responsibilities
Core Welding & Fabrication
Interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding specifications. Set up, prepare, and operate TIG welding equipment. Weld and fabricate stainless steel products to a high standard. Assemble metal structures and components in line with design requirements. Inspect welded joints to ensure structural integrity and quality compliance. Quality Control & Compliance
Ensure all work meets relevant welding codes, safety standards, and company quality requirements. Identify defects and carry out repairs or adjustments as required. Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and inspections. Equipment & Workspace Management
Set up welding machines correctly for the task at hand. Maintain welding tools and equipment, reporting faults when necessary. Keep work areas clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety standards. Health, Safety & Environmental
Follow all site safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE at all times. Safely handle gases, materials, tools, and hazardous substances. Participate in safety briefings, toolbox talks, and risk assessments. Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or near misses immediately. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
Work collaboratively with fabricators, engineers, and supervisors to meet project deadlines. Communicate progress, issues, or material needs clearly and promptly. Support training and mentoring of less experienced colleagues where required. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements. Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Essential
Relevant welding qualification (e.g. City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Welding & Fabrication, or equivalent). Valid welding codings where required (e.g. BS EN ISO 9606). Proven experience in a workshop or site-based welding environment. Strong TIG welding capability. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols. Good understanding of fabrication techniques and inspection methods. Desirable
First Aid certification. Knowledge of NDT and weld testing processes. Personal Attributes & Behaviours
