Welder – Yeovil
Salary: £15.50 per hour Interaction Recruitment – Recruiting on behalf of a local client
Overall Purpose of the Role
Interaction Recruitment are seeking an experienced Welder to join a well‑established local client in Yeovil. This role involves cutting, joining and fabricating metal components using fusion welding and spot welding techniques. You will play a key part in the cabinet assembly process and support a range of assemblies across the business.
The ideal candidate will be confident using welding equipment, able to follow strict safety procedures and demonstrate excellent attention to detail. This position requires both independent working and strong teamwork to maintain productivity and efficiency across the production facility.
Key Responsibilities
Read and interpret technical drawings and measurements to build assemblies.
Determine the correct welding method and equipment based on job requirements.
Set up components for welding, including cutting materials using powered saws.
Align and weld components using manual or semi‑automatic welding equipment.
Input accurate completion data into the company ERP system.
Maintain welding equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
Handle materials safely, including manual pallet truck operation (training provided).
Keep the welding plant and surrounding area clean and tidy.
Follow production schedules and Work to Lists.
Support wider production activities when required.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
Qualifications & Experience
Experience in MIG/TIG welding.
Experience working with Stainless Steel, Mild Steel, and Aluminium (advantageous).
Fabrication experience, including reading drawings and assembling/welding components.
Ability to select correct materials and welding consumables.
Proficient in English.
Professional welding certification beneficial but not essential.
Additional Information
40 hours per week, with flexibility required during busy periods.
Full training and PPE provided.
Pay dependent on qualifications and experience.
