The Opportunity
Wolviston Management Services are delighted to be supporting a leading fabrication business in the appointment of an experienced Structural Welder to join their production team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled welder to work within a fast-paced, safety-focused manufacturing environment, contributing to the delivery of high-quality fabricated products to demanding project schedules.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out structural steel welding of plates and sections on a production line, working with material up to 100mm thick
Use MAG 135 welding processes to produce single and multi-run fillet and butt welds in the down-hand position
Complete visual inspections of finished welds in line with specifications and quality standards
Operate grinders and associated consumables correctly, ensuring full compliance with HAVS regulations
Demonstrate a strong commitment to Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) at all times
Adhere to all relevant safe operating procedures in line with company and site requirements
Work efficiently to production targets to support project deadlines
Actively engage in training and continuous development activities
Undertake any additional duties reasonably required to support the wider production team Skills & Experience
Time-served welder or equivalent qualification in MAG 135 manual welding (trade test required)
Proven experience working with structural steel (essential)
Strong understanding of welding codes, standards, and quality requirements
Experience using overhead cranes and safe slinging techniques
City & Guilds or NVQ qualification in Welding (structural carbon steels)
Visual weld inspection certification from a recognised test house (desirable)
Strong communication skills with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
Ability to work independently or as part of a team, using initiative to maintain high standards
Excellent understanding of health & safety and safe working behaviours Interested?
