Waking Night Support Worker- Young People

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate Childrens Residential Waking Night Support Worker to join a specialist residential home supporting young people aged 715.
This home supports children with physical disabilities, learning disabilities and complex additional needs. The role focuses on delivering consistent, high-quality, person-centred care in a safe and nurturing environment.
While behavioural needs are minimal, the position requires hands-on support and attentive overnight care.
About the Role
Night shifts: 10:00pm
8:00am
Full-time position: 4 shifts per week
Supporting young people with physical andlearning disabilities in a residential setting
Majority of nights are settled, with young people typically sleeping through
This is a practical, hands-on care role requiring patience, empathy and a nurturing approach.
Key Responsibilities
Providing personal care, including: Toileting support (including pad/nappy changing and continence care), bathing/showering assistance, dressing and undressing, brushing teeth and general hygiene support
Assisting with feeding where required
Administering medication (following training and protocols)
Supporting moving and handling needs
Ensuring the safety, wellbeing and dignity of all young people
Completing accurate records and handovers
Maintaining a calm and structured environment overnight
Requirements
Minimum age: 22 years old
Minimum 6 months experience in residential care (essential)
Experience supporting children with physical or learning disabilities (desirable)
Full UK manual driving licence (essential)
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one
we can process this)
Ability to work independently and remain calm in a care setting
What We Offer
