Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Virtualisation Engineer with strong expertise in VDI, Citrix (XenApp/XenDesktop), Azure Virtual Desktop, and Windows 365.

The role involves designing, deploying, and supporting end-user workspace technologies while leveraging automation and AI tools (Power Automate, Copilot) to enhance user experience and operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of workspace infrastructure, cloud platforms, and virtualization technologies, along with strong troubleshooting and stakeholder management skills.

Key Responsibilities

1. Architecture & Deployment

• Design and implement VDI and Workspace solutions aligned with business goals
• Build and manage:
• Windows 365 (Cloud PCs)
• Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)
• Citrix XenApp & XenDesktop environments
• Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance

2. Virtualisation & Cloud Expertise

• Manage and support:
• Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops
• NetScaler (Citrix ADC)
• VMware & Nutanix environments
• Integrate Citrix solutions with Azure and AWS cloud platforms
• Maintain Citrix Cloud environments and automation workflows

3. Automation & AI Enablement

• Implement automation using:
• Power Automate
• Copilot (AI tools)
• Explore and leverage RPA (Robotic Process Automation) for workspace optimization
• Improve service delivery, productivity, and user experience

4. Operations & Support

• Provide L3/L2 support for workspace and virtualization issues
• Troubleshoot escalated issues and perform root cause analysis
• Support 24x7 infrastructure operations (on-call rotation)
• Manage day-to-day operations of workspace technologies

5. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

• Work with:
• IT infrastructure teams
• Project managers
• Vendors and business stakeholders
• Ensure alignment with business and technology objectives
• Participate in vendor evaluation and solution selection

6. Continuous Improvement & Documentation

• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements
• Maintain technical documentation and knowledge base
• Cross-train team members on workspace technologies

Core Technical Skills

• Strong experience in:
• VDI Technologies (Citrix, Azure VDI, Windows 365)
• Citrix XenApp / XenDesktop architecture
• NetScaler (Citrix ADC)
• Cloud expertise:
• Microsoft Azure (AVD, W365)
• Exposure to AWS integration

Virtualisation Platforms

• VMware
• Nutanix

Automation & AI

• Power Automate
• Copilot / AI-based automation
• RPA tools (preferred)

Additional Skills

• Citrix Cloud experience
• IGEL (preferred)
• Strong troubleshooting across L1/L2/L3 levels
