UK Sales Manager - Construction/Manufacturing via Delaney Browne – Reading

Note: You must live near Reading, Berkshire, as it is a 3-day office role with hybrid working (2 days WFH, 3 days in-office).

Hours: Permanent, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, hybrid (2 days WFH, 3 days office)

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Sales Manager to lead UK and Ireland sales, with responsibilities including:

• Growing sales from £60-70m
• Proven track record of 5+ years in a Sales Manager role
• 7-10 years of progressive responsibility with measurable results
• 5-7 years managing sales teams and leadership experience
• Experience selling large value projects, understanding decision-making processes, negotiation, and working with C-suite
• Construction industry experience (facades, steel, aluminium, etc.)
• Disciplined use of CRM for forecasting and reporting
• Coaching and leadership skills to develop the team
• Professional appearance and representation skills
• Location within commuting distance to Reading; ideally full-time in Reading or minimum 2-3 days in-office

Key responsibilities include:

• Achieving UK/IRE sales target of £70m+
• Managing sales and estimating teams to meet business targets
• Maximising opportunities and ensuring disciplined sales actions
• Developing sales strategies and key client relationships
• Identifying market opportunities and risks
• Continuous improvement of sales processes
• Holding weekly sales meetings and ensuring accurate forecasting
• Training and developing the team
• Ensuring smooth handover to operations
• Setting quarterly goals and improving systems

Skills and knowledge required:

• Excellent organisational, communication, and negotiation skills
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Knowledge of product ranges and regulations
• Understanding of market, competitors, and technical drawings
• Analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities
• Proven pipeline management skills
