Transport Supervisor

We're looking for a talented transport supervisor to work for our client in Leigh.

The Role:

As the transport supervisor you'll report to the Transport Manager and will be primarily responsible for work in a team and work well under pressure and in new environments on a daily basis.

We are currently looking for a skilled and dedicated Transport Supervisor to join our dynamic team. If you're passionate about logistics, have a knack for managing teams, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you!

Shifts: 5 out of 6 nights. Time: 1am to 8/9am.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the daily operations of the transport department, ensuring efficient and safe transportation of goods and personnel.

Manage and supervise a team of drivers, dispatchers, and other transport staff.

Coordinate routes, schedules, and vehicle maintenance to optimize delivery performance.

Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, legal requirements, and company policies.

Monitor fuel usage, vehicle condition, and repair needs to minimize downtime.

Resolve any transport-related issues or complaints in a timely and professional manner.

Prepare reports on transportation performance, including cost analysis and efficiency metrics.

Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth coordination of logistics and deliveries.

Key Requirements:

Strong leadership skills with experience managing a team.

In-depth knowledge of transport regulations, safety standards, and best practices.

Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.

A valid driver's license (Class 2)- preferable and clean driving record

Familiarity with transport management software and systems is a plus.
