Role: Transport Planner\n\nLocation: Birmingham\n\nSalary: £29-£46k (DOE)\n\nRef: MB1035\n\nWe are currently looking for a Transport Planner (minimum 1 year of experience) with a passion for development related transport planning based in our clients’ Birmingham office. The successful candidate will join a busy team working on a wide range of projects in the West Midlands and across the UK. The company’s strong and diverse client base means that no one day is the same and staff advise on an extensive portfolio of projects which includes mixed-use regeneration, residential, employment, logistics, retail, leisure and education.
As a Transport Planner you will manage projects and communicate directly with clients to provide advice on transport and highway matters. You will also be involved in liaising and negotiating with local highway authority officers and other government bodies to achieve successful outcomes for our clients.\n\nIf you want to go home at the end of the day feeling like you have achieved and delivered something, then this is company to work for.\n\nThey will consider people based on their experience, but as a guide the successful candidate will have some or all of the following:\n• Preparation of Transport Notes, Statements and Assessments, Travel Plans, Site Access Appraisals using Microsoft Office programmes (Word and Excel);\n• Travel Plan Coordinator experience;\n• An understanding of relevant local and national policy and guidance;\n• Junction capacity modelling using the Junctions software (ARCADY and PICADY);\n• Traffic signal design using LinSig;\n• Preliminary design of access, junction improvements and highway schemes using AutoCAD;\n• Swept Path Analysis using AutoTrack;\n• Preparation of high quality graphics using GIS packages and/ or Corel Draw;\n• Exposure to Project Management and client communication;\n• Prepare client briefs and fee proposals for submission, as well as contributing to company-wide bids and frameworks; and\n• Contribute to working towards our business targets.\n\nThe Package:\n• Competitive salary (graded by experience);\n• 25 days annual leave (increased by seniority);\n• Apple MacBook for work;\n• Flexible working arrangements;\n• Health cash plan;\n• Two tiered pension;\n• Life insurance cover;\n• Death in service cover;\n• Cycle Hire scheme;\n• Discretionary Travel Loans; and\n• End of year Bonus scheme.\n\nThe Ideal Transport Planner:\n• Formal education in either Transport Engineering, Geography or Transport Planning;\n• Experience in the field of development focused transport planning;\n• A member (or seeking to be) of a professional membership, such as CIHT or ICE;\n• Excellent communication skills with a high standard of work ethic; and\n• Accuracy, attention to detail and ability to work proactively and use initiative.\n\nWhat to do next:\n\nIf you are interested in this Transport Panner position in Birmingham, then please click on the link to apply.\n\nIf you are interested in hearing about any other opportunities within Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Drainage Engineering, or Flood Risk Engineering, then please contact Martin on (phone number removed) for further information
