Town Planner\n Location: Edinburgh\n\nPenguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well established and highly respected planning consultancy in their search for a Town Planner to join their growing Edinburgh team.\n\nThis is an excellent opportunity for a Town Planner to work on a diverse portfolio of projects across Scotland, supporting both public and private sector clients. The role would suit a motivated Town Planner looking to build strong consultancy experience within a collaborative and commercially focused environment.\n\nThe Role\n\nAs a Town Planner, you will support the delivery of planning advice across a wide range of sectors including residential, commercial, infrastructure and energy developments. You will be involved in projects from early-stage appraisals through to application submission and post-consent work.\n\nKey responsibilities will include:\n\nPreparing and managing planning applications and supporting documents\n\nUndertaking planning appraisals and policy research\n\nLiaising with local authorities, stakeholders and clients\n\nSupporting appeals and representations to development plans\n\nAssisting senior colleagues with project delivery and client management\n\nAbout You\n\nTo be successful in this Town Planner role, you will ideally have:\n\nA degree or postgraduate qualification in Town Planning or a related discipline\n\nExperience working in a planning consultancy or local authority environment\n\nA solid understanding of the Scottish planning system\n\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\n\nA proactive, organised approach with good attention to detail\n\nProgress toward RTPI accreditation (or willingness to work towards it)\n\nWhy Apply?\n\nThis Town Planner position offers the chance to develop your career within a supportive consultancy that values professional development and exposure to high quality work.
