Technical Services Manager £65,000, Mobile, National role.
Overall leadership of the provision of Technical Services including Mechanical, Electrical and HVAC Plant and equipment providing contractual and legal compliance, improving operational performance and energy efficiency. Provide Engineering Support to Facilities Managers.
Be a Point of Contact for Account Management Teams for technical support and advice including best practice.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain a PPM schedule that meets contractual and legal obligations based on SFG20 Guidelines and Manufacturers recommendations
Support and advice Facilities Manager in the control of PPM activities.
Support and advice Facilities Manager in the management of remedial works
Quantify corrective actions
Validate Quotes
Review Method Statements
Provide support to FM through the duration of works
Manage and implement the Safe System of Works
Authorising Person for Electrical Works
Training and assessment of Competent Persons and Site Responsible Persons
Support FMs in management of SSoW and RAMS.
Lead and motivate the engineering team to improve performance on customer service, communication, networking, common engineering standards, quality, safety and environmental issues to ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory / corporate requirements and that documented procedures exist and are understood by all employees.
Lead the engineering team to deliver a safe, compliant, cost effective and responsive service
Working with the engineering team to provide an efficient / cost effective management of all Suppliers which includes; lifts, building management controls and fire systems
Contribute to plans and strategies for the future development of facilities.
Maximise the utilisation of the Technical Services team through training and coaching in order to minimise plant downtime and reliance on sub contractors.
Establish and maintain excellent working relationships based on open and honest communication with suppliers to ensure confidence in our business and to present a credible and professional image.
Ensure all work is carried out on all sites to an acceptable level and to consistent engineering and H & S standards through regular monitoring of both in-house and contractor performance and competence.
Develop, manage and co-ordinate a process to continually review Service Suppliers.
Qualifications
Recognised qualification in an appropriate engineering subject.
Appointed Authorising Engineer or Authorised Persons for M&E disciplines.
Member of an appropriate technical institution (IET, CIBSE).
Experience
Knowledge of building services/utilities, energy utilisation and procurement, business planning, and financial/budgetary controls
5 - 10 years experience of managing at a senior level a multi-disciplinary service to a complex facility incorporating maintenance and engineering.
Proven track record of achievement in a commercial, client-facing role.
Demonstrates experience of co‑coordinating and managing Technical Services and good awareness of fit‑out and H & S issues.
Ability to explore a situation, assess pro’s and con’s of different options and formulate a plan to meet objectives.
Able to think on their feet and change their approach as required.
Experience of formulating, implementing and managing change management programmes
