This global manufacturing organisation offers the opportunity to join their established, friendly and successful team working remotely and autonomously in the UK as a technical sales manager developing business, visiting prospects and existing customers, selling the company’s products to tier 1 aerospace customers. This role reports to the Global Business Manager and collaborates with other technical sales managers in Europe, Asia and North America.
Responsibilities
Manage the sales cycle and customer relations for prospective and existing customers.
Call on prospective and existing accounts and determine specific applications for engineered component solutions.
Communicate and present product line and company capabilities to customers.
Complete technical service requests for quotations or project action requests for engineering and/or design and pricing considerations.
Serve as a technical reference and manage a portfolio of products.
Interface with customers on pricing, quality and delivery information; provide product samples as required.
Research and develop competitive data and potential market opportunities.
Review and manage assigned strategic business customers including strategic distribution and Tier 1 suppliers.
Negotiate complex long-term agreements with strategic customers in the aerospace industry.
Analyse technical trends from customer projects and respond by defining opportunities.
Travel regularly to customers in the UK and occasionally to customer sites in Northern Europe (Germany, Norway, Sweden).
Qualifications and Skills
Degree or equivalent qualification in an engineering or technical discipline with a technical sales background, ideally in the aerospace sector.
Vocational qualifications in engineering or technical subjects considered suitable if paired with deep aerospace sales knowledge.
B2B expertise with a focus on technical sales of components to the aerospace industry.
Ability to understand and interface with engineers and read engineering/technical drawings.
Flexible to travel to customer sites in the UK, with occasional travel to Northern Europe (Germany, Norway, Sweden).
Analytical research skills to identify and develop new customers and potential markets.
Relationship management with focus on great customer experience and communication—face to face, written and oral.
Aptitude to maintain the bigger picture and regular contact with the Global Business Manager, wider team, customers and the aerospace market.
Full driving licence and passport essential.
