Technical Manager PCB design and Semiconductor Test HouseLocation: Andover, HampshireOverviewOsprey Engineering is exclusively retained to appoint a Technical Manager / Director to lead engineering operations within a PCB design and Semiconductor test environment. This position will play a key role in driving technical excellence, supporting production, and maintaining high standards within a controlled test setting.Technical Requirements & ExpertiseThe role requires a strong technical foundation across electronics, with particular emphasis on testing, design, and development:Solid experience in electronics testing and fixturing, alongside design and circuit developmentHands-on, component-level experience including testing, fault finding, and designA balanced background across both test and design environments Understanding of PCB design processes, including back-end activities such as assembly and testingFamiliarity with, or willingness to learn, ESD testing methodologies (HBM, CDM, LU, TLP)Strong analytical capability with the ability to quickly understand new technologies and conceptsComfortable working across multidisciplinary areas including electronics (hardware/software), mathematics, computing, communications, manufacturing, and testingIdeally degree-qualified in a relevant engineering or scientific disciplineLeadership & Commercial ResponsibilitiesThis role combines technical leadership with operational and project responsibility:Lead, mentor, and develop the engineering teamOversee engineering activities across the full testing lifecycleManage project delivery, timelines, and resource allocationDrive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, yield, and qualitySupport equipment performance, maintenance strategies, and troubleshootingCollaborate closely with operations, quality, and senior leadership teamsPromote a culture of safety, compliance, and high performanceBalance multiple priorities within a fast-paced, high-tech environmentCompany & Role FitAbility to understand a broad range of electronic devices and applicationsExperience within high-tech manufacturing, or test environmentsKnowledge of ESD or cleanroom environments is beneficialMust be able to commute to Andover daily or be willing to relocateA stable career history and a genuine interest in long-term project contribution are importantJBRP1_UKTJ
