Required Skills:
- Over 10 years of experience in application architecture and design, with deep expertise in .NET/C#, SQL Server, and integration technologies - Proven track record of modernising legacy monolithic systems to microservices or service-oriented architectures - Strong knowledge of containerisation tools such as Docker and Kubernetes - Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, and Databricks - Familiarity with messaging protocols (MQ, Kafka), API design, and secure integration patterns - Ability to define observability metrics and guide testing and monitoring efforts - Excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with regulatory compliance standards such as BCBS239 and DORA - Background in working with near real-time trading platform integrations - Certification in TOGAF, AWS/Azure Architecture, or similar credentials
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field - Significant experience leading complex architecture projects within the banking or financial services industry
Other Requirements:
- Must be based in the UK, specifically London - Ability to visit client sites once or twice a week - Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements in banking preferred
