The team you will join is the Monitoring Data & Systems Team (MDS). We manage important environmental monitoring systems and datasets, and you will work alongside a multi‑disciplinary, dispersed team supporting and learning from colleagues while analysing and improving data that underpins our work.
In this multi‑purpose role you will primarily work on our Water Quality systems and data, but you will also support other systems and datasets as needed and be involved in the following:
Set up and manage users
Support users and resolve issues, especially during the transition to our new My Environment application
Update, improve and maintain datasets
Respond to internal and external data requests
Support system improvement and upgrade projects
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
Experience working with large, complex datasets
Willingness to develop and learn new technical skills and apply them across our monitoring data and systems
Motivated, organised, friendly, helpful and detail‑oriented, comfortable working in a dispersed team environment
Proactive and enjoys solving problems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to convey complex technical information to both technical and non‑technical audiences
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships and deliver through others, providing excellent customer service
Desirable:
Experience using and managing environmental monitoring data systems
Experience with PowerBI, Access, Excel, Python, SharePoint Online and R
Working knowledge of water quality monitoring

Location & Working Arrangements
Work location is flexible, but you must have a base at one of our offices across England and maintain a presence there. We offer hybrid home/office working, with some travel for meetings expected.
