Teaching Assistant - Liverpool Secondary School

Location: Liverpool Start Date: ASAP Contract: Full-time, Long-term Salary: £90 - £100 per day (depending on experience)

Tradewind Recruitment are working with a welcoming secondary school in Liverpool who are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to support pupils on a 1:1 basis with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and provide in classroom support.

This is a full-time position, offering a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people with additional needs and helping them reach their full potential.

The Role:

Working 1:1 with a student with complex SEND needs.

Supporting both academic progress and emotional wellbeing.

Implementing behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques when required.

Collaborating closely with teachers, SENCO, and support staff to ensure consistent support and progress.

Providing a calm, positive, and structured environment to promote learning.

The Ideal Candidate:

Has experience working with children or young people, ideally within a secondary school or SEND setting.

Confident in managing challenging or complex behaviour effectively and empathetically.

Demonstrates strong communication skills and a proactive attitude.

Is patient, resilient, and committed to making a difference.
