Teaching Assistant - KS1 SEN Support
Location: Runcorn Contract: Long-term or Flexible Supply Hours: Full-time or Flexible Start: Immediate start available Pay: £14-£17 per hour (depending on experience)
Empowering Learning is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Runcorn, which is seeking a qualified Teaching Assistant to support children with Special Educational Needs in Key Stage 1.
The school has a strong focus on early intervention and inclusion, with a supportive leadership team and a clear commitment to ensuring all pupils are able to access learning in a safe, nurturing environment. Staff work closely together, and there is a strong emphasis on consistency, positive relationships, and pupil wellbeing.
This role will involve supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASD, communication difficulties, and learning needs, both 1:1 and in small groups. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to help pupils engage with learning, manage routines, and develop confidence within the classroom.
The school is open to offering this position as a long-term placement for the right candidate but will also consider regular flexible supply, depending on availability and experience.
This role would suit a Teaching Assistant who:
Has experience supporting SEN pupils in KS1
Is calm, patient, and consistent in their approach
Can build positive relationships with young children
