You will be joining a dedicated SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) specialist school that provides a safe, structured and nurturing environment for young people who have struggled in mainstream education. The school supports learners through a highly personalised curriculum, strong pastoral care and a trauma informed approach.As a key member of the team, you will help KS4 and Post-16 students build confidence, develop life skills and progress towards positive next steps in education, training or employment.
Your new role
As a full time Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students aged 14-18 both in and out of the classroom.Building trusted, positive relationships to encourage engagement and emotional regulation. Supporting behaviour plans and contributing to a calm, consistent school environment. Working closely with pastoral and SEN teams to meet students' holistic needs. Driving school vehicles to take learners to their work experience placements when required. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about helping young people overcome challenges and achieve their potential.
Experience working with SEN or SEMH students-ideally within a school or alternative provision. Confidence building rapport with young people who may have complex needs. A full, clean driving licence and confidence driving school vehicles.
