About the Role
We are seeking a resilient and passionate SEMH Teacher to join a specialist provision in Blackpool, supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. We have opportunities available for both Primary and Secondary trained teachers within the same school.
This role is particularly well-suited to teachers currently working in mainstream education who are looking for a more purpose-driven and rewarding environment. With smaller class sizes, reduced marking and planning expectations, and a strong focus on relationship-building, this is a chance to make a real difference every single day.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging, adaptable lessons that meet the diverse needs of pupils with SEMH Build strong, trusting relationships with students to support emotional regulation and engagement in learning Manage challenging behaviour using positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques Create a safe, structured, and supportive classroom environment Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, pastoral teams, and external professionals Track and support both academic progress and personal development The Ideal Candidate
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent Experience working with pupils with SEMH, behavioural needs, or additional needs is highly desirable Open to teachers transitioning from mainstream education into specialist settings Strong behaviour management skills and emotional resilience A calm, consistent, and empathetic approach to teaching What's on Offer
