Our client is an active young man, with a busy schedule, no two days are the same, from socialising with friends and family, attending appointments and therapy sessions, to nipping to the pub and cinema or having a few days away with staff.

We are currently recruiting for Full-time & Part-time Support Workers to work with a young man, living in his own home the Worcester area, which he shares with family, including their cat.
He has Cerebral Palsy, as well as other health support needs, and is reliant on others to ensure he can access all aspects of his busy lifestyle, both socially where he enjoys spending time with family, going to concerts and leisure days out, to those times where he is out at his ongoing therapies and appointments.
This young man requires 2:1 care during the day, and occasionally at night (night shifts are 1 x waking and 1 x sleep night when cover is required which is approximately once a month currently).
Due to his conditions, he needs staff who can support with an enteral feed (PEG), as well as personal and continence care during his day. Staff also need to be willing to support physio and other therapies including hydrotherapy (all training will be provided).
You need to be a driver, with a full UK licence, and feel comfortable driving an automatic large wheelchair accessible van.
You need excellent communication skills and a good level of English as well as clarity in speaking is essential due to the young mans communication needs.
The home is a completely non-smoking environment.
Support Worker Duties:
This is an exciting opportunity to join our established team. You will work on a rota basis, including weekdays and regular weekends to cover day shifts and waking night/sleep shifts (usually once a month.)
You will be supporting this young man to maintain his independence and you must be flexible, reliable, intuitive, trustworthy and mindful. You must be willing to participate and support in a wide variety of activities as he has a very full calendar.
The shift times are as follows:
Day shift times start between 0730 and 0800 (day dependent), finish times are usually around 22:00 (but with notice may be later due to activities) Approx. One weekend per month and for some holidays we are required to cover waking night shifts and sleepover shifts (with a good amount of notice given) these start at 2200 and finish between 0730 and 0800 dependent on activities) Rates of Pay: Up to £18.50 per hour upon successful completion of competencies and training. An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check WILL be required.
About You
You are active and outgoing, willing to participate in a range of activities, as well as approachable, reliable, and dependable. You need great communication skills, with clarity in your spoken and written English, you should be able to work well as part of a team, but also able to use your own initiative. Experience and ability to understand and deal with complex needs is desirable but not essential. The family own a cat which is permitted to wander around the house, when family are away staff are required to support looking after the cat. You need to be a driver with a full UK licence, experience of driving a larger vehicle or automatic wheelchair accessible vehicle would be preferred.
