Support Worker
to join their Care team in
Lowestoft, Suffolk
on a full-time, permanent basis (37.5 hours per week). Part-time hours may be considered for the right person.

About the role:
As a Support Worker, you will provide practical, emotional, and personal care support tailored to individual customer needs. You will work as part of a dedicated team delivering a
24-hour service, 365 days a year,
supporting customers to develop daily living skills, maintain their wellbeing, and access education, leisure, and community opportunities.
Working hours for this role are 37.5 hours per week, working 15-hour shifts across 7 days on a rota basis to meet customer needs. This includes weekends, bank holidays, sleep-ins, and occasional waking nights as required.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide person-centred personal care and daily living support, including mobility, continence, medication support, meal preparation, and maintaining clean, safe living environments in line with individual care plans.
Promote independence and inclusion by supporting customers to access educational, recreational, social, and community-based activities, both at home and in the wider community.
Monitor customers' health, wellbeing and behaviour, reporting and responding appropriately to any changes or concerns while maintaining dignity, choice, and confidentiality.
Communicate effectively using inclusive, person-centred approaches, working collaboratively with families, advocates, carers, and external professionals to meet individual goals and aspirations.
Contribute to support plans, risk assessments and handovers, maintaining accurate records and documentation in line with GDPR, Trust systems and regulatory requirements.
About you:
As a
Support Worker , you will share Papworth Trust's values and be committed to equality, inclusion, and safeguarding. You will ideally be experienced in supporting disabled adults with learning and/or physical disabilities, helping them live fulfilling, independent lives. Ideally, but not essential, you will hold Care Certificate or NVQ in care. Would be advantageous, but again not essential, if PEG (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy) trained, but training will be provided. What is essential You will be caring, flexible, and confident in managing challenging situations, communicate effectively, use IT systems for record keeping, and provide personal care as needed. You will ideally live within a 30 minutes commute of Lowestoft and be able, or willing to learn, to drive as will use Trust vehicles and assist customers safely (both manual and automatic cars).
