Supplier Quality Engineers
to be a key part of that journey. This isn't a 'keep-the-lights-on' quality role. The business is actively growing the quality team, strengthening governance, and embedding a true Quality-First mentality across the supply chain, so you'll have real influence, visibility, and the chance to help shape how 'good' looks as the function matures.
The opportunity
You'll take ownership of supplier quality performance across a diverse, technical supply base, working closely with Procurement, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Suppliers to drive: Right-first-time quality
and robust prevention (not just containment) Supplier development and capability improvement Stronger incoming quality / inspection effectiveness Faster, more structured problem-solving and corrective action
What you'll be doing
Managing supplier quality issues from detection through containment, root cause and verified corrective/preventive action (e.g.,
8D / RCCA ) Planning and executing
supplier audits
and follow-up improvement activity Supporting supplier onboarding / qualification, and ongoing performance management (KPIs, scorecards, escalation where needed) Driving improvements in
non-conformance
handling, concessions/deviations, and quality documentation Partnering with internal stakeholders to ensure supplier quality aligns with production and programme needs Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen a
quality-led culture
What they're looking for
Proven experience in
Supplier Quality
/ Supplier Development within manufacturing (aerospace/defence/automotive/precision engineering environments all of interest) Strong working knowledge of
quality systems and standards
(e.g., ISO9001 / AS9100 style environments) Confident using structured problem-solving and data-led improvement Comfortable engaging suppliers and internal stakeholders; able to influence, challenge, and collaborate Someone who enjoys building/improving processes in a team that's
scaling up
(high impact, high ownership)
