We're looking for a
StarChef RME Product Manager
to take ownership of StarChef and its associated menu, product, allergen, and nutritional data systems. In this role, you will ensure data accuracy, maintain legal and regulatory compliance, and align multiple systems, while supporting business operations through effective oversight, training, streamlined workflows, and cross-functional collaboration.
This is a
remote
role, offering flexibility while working closely with cross-functional teams across the business.
Overall, Purpose of Job: This role provides senior governance, ownership and leadership of StarChef, and all associated menu, product, allergen and nutritional data systems. The Data & Systems Manager ensures data accuracy, legal compliance, multi-system alignment and supports business operations through system oversight, training, workflows and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Accountabilities:
• Ensure accurate setup and governance of StarChef and connected systems (TenKites, Label Logic Live, Track'd). • Act as senior escalation for data quality, compliance, workflows and cross-system alignment. • Oversee supplier data workflows including allergens, nutrition, pricing, ingredient lists & Co2 uploads. • Manage data flow from StarChef to Label Logic Live for PPDS regulatory compliance. • Develop and maintain data governance frameworks, SOPs, guidance and internal documentation. • Support Safety & Wellbeing with allergen incident investigations and data traceability. • Monitor system updates and communicate with Digital/IT as required. • Oversee release coordination, system updates, change control, and escalation frameworks. • Collaborate with Digital, Procurement, Operations, Food Development and Marketing on system changes and product lifecycle events. • Evaluate and test new system features and coordinate release readiness. • Produce reporting and insights for senior stakeholders regarding system use, data trends and compliance. • Oversee training needs, capability building and user experience improvements across menu data systems. • Approve high impact changes including allergen updates, recipe revisions, and PPDS workflows. • Oversee processes for delisted or replacement product transitions. • Line manage and develop the administrator(s), providing coaching, workload prioritisation and skills progression. • Lead continuous improvement initiatives for data workflows, supplier processes, menu publishing and internal audit readiness. • Provide senior support for mobilisation activities (new sites, transitions, concept launches). • Serve as escalation for operational data discrepancies, site issues, and ad hoc system queries.
Experience and Knowledge: Essential • Experience managing a menu or product data management system (e.g., StarChef). • Knowledge of allergen, PPDS, calorie and distance-selling regulations. • Ability to analyze, diagnose and solve business and system problems. • Excellent communication skills across all levels of the business. • Experience managing data, databases and structured data workflows. • Intermediate level Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). • Ingredient-level understanding of food products.
Experience and Knowledge: Desirable • Experience working with 3rd-party software providers. • Foodservice operational experience. • Experience leading cross-functional projects.
