Our client is seeking a proactive Software Test Engineer to join their team and support the development, build, and validation of software used across their product range. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical foundations, an eye for detail, and a passion for ensuring high-quality software delivery.

Key Responsibilities

+Build, test, and validate software components that support our products and services.
+Create, update, and maintain software build documentation and test specifications.
+Act as a technical point of contact for internal teams, partners, and customers on software-related matters.
+Contribute to improving software testability and supporting process enhancements.

Requirements

+Strong technical background.
+Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
+Competent PC skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
+Good understanding of the software development lifecycle, particularly integration and testing stages.
+Experience with scripting or programming languages to aid in test automation and build processes.
+Willingness to travel occasionally, including visits to vessels in the UK and overseas.

Experience

+Minimum of 1 year’s hands-on experience testing software on Windows-based systems.
+Experience producing test plans, specifications, and detailed test reports.
+Experience building software or installers is beneficial.
+Prior experience in a technical or engineering environment is advantageous.

Qualifications

+A degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline with software content
