As Softlines Product Development Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of Product Development falling under the Softlines category, including back-to-school stationery, apparel, accessories, and footwear, as well as managing a direct report. Reporting to the Senior Product Development Manager, you will be part of our highly talented European Licensing team, working on some of the biggest brands in gaming and entertainment, including Sonic the Hedgehog and many more!

Your responsibilities will extend to the end-to-end management of product approvals for licensing programmes across Europe, including global apparel partners.

You have extensive experience in managing consumer product development within entertainment or gaming licensing, with exposure to character licensing or kids' IP. You possess a strategic mindset, ensuring licensed products align with brand positioning and commercial objectives. You are confident in managing external relationships, leading projects, and mentoring team members to improve workflow efficiencies. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing creativity with commercial insight to deliver high-quality products at retail.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Team Management & Mentorship: Supervise and mentor Softlines Product Developer, fostering growth and best practices in product approvals and design feedback.
  2. Trend Analysis: Conduct market research to identify consumer trends and competitor activity to inform product development strategies.
  3. Licensee & Partner Management: Build strong relationships with external partners, providing clear feedback to drive product excellence.
  4. Product Development Oversight: Oversee the entire product lifecycle, focusing on quality, brand consistency, and commercial viability.
  5. Brand Guardianship: Ensure licensed products maintain the integrity of SEGA IP and adhere to brand guidelines.
  6. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with internal teams such as Creative Services, Marketing, PR, and International Licensing to drive synergy.
  7. Business Development Support: Collaborate to identify new opportunities and product extensions.
  8. Trade Show & Event Representation: Represent SEGA at industry events, with some travel required.
