As a social worker you will be required to work in accordance with the principles of getting it Right for Every Child and partner with children, young people, their families and communities to provide services in collaboration with other agencies and organisations. Within this collaborative framework you will assist in the identification of local need and participate in the design and delivery of appropriate services which support resilience in relationships, meet needs and manage risks. Under the Act it is a legal requirement for an individual undertaking a regulated role with children or protected adults to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme. To partner with children, young people and their families to promote their well-being. To further promote the wellbeing of children, young people and their families by working with other agencies, organisations and individuals as the lead social work professional, co-ordinating the interagency assessment for the child and their family. To participate in the development, monitoring and evaluation of services for children, young people and their families. Experience within child care/child protection setting or potential to adapt other relevant experience. Degree / CQSW/ Diploma in Social Work and SSSC Registration. Knowledge of, and ability to work effectively within, relevant child care legislation and practice. Good assessment and report writing skills. Significant knowledge of the needs of children with disrupted lives. Ability to work effectively with Area Team Social Workers and other agency staff. You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Moray to meet the operational requirements of the Service. Due to the rural nature of Moray this is normally undertaken by use of a car/van. Ability to work in an open plan office (if applicable). We would welcome applicants who are currently in the closing stages of completing their social work degree as social workers in training. The Social Work post is based upon successful completion of the Social Work Degree, and this will be reflected also in a reduced pay grade until the successful candidate is Qualified.
