A long-established UK civil engineering and infrastructure contractor delivering major works across
water, transport, energy and the built environment
is seeking a
Site Engineer
to support regional projects. The business is recognised for its
direct delivery model , technical expertise and long-term investment in people. Role Overview
The Site Engineer will provide engineering support across multiple live projects, ensuring accurate setting out, survey control, quality compliance and safe delivery. The initial focus will be on the
Manor Road NOS7 and NOS8 remediation works
for Thames Water, involving repairs to bridge structures and trunk sewer barrels across rail and road spans. As these works are currently in the design phase, the role offers involvement from
concept through to delivery , providing exposure to cost, programme and contract management alongside engineering delivery. You will work closely with Site Agents, Sub Agents and the wider engineering team, contributing to HSQE documentation and supporting safe, efficient and commercially aware project execution. Key Responsibilities
Promote and maintain safe working practices in line with legal and environmental requirements
Support delivery of works to programme, quality and safety standards
Establish survey control and carry out accurate setting out and checks
Ensure defect-free delivery and identify value engineering opportunities
Maintain accurate site records (diaries, registers, allocation sheets, photos)
Assist with RAMS, ITPs, quality plans and HSQE documentation
Participate in pre-construction reviews and ensure permits and consents are in place
Support short-term planning, procurement scheduling and site coordination
Identify and communicate variations or potential commercial issues
Assist with day-to-day site and resource management
Essential Requirements
Previous setting-out experience within civil engineering
Strong understanding of construction methods, H&S and legislation
Proficient with robotic total stations / EDM equipment
Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering
Strong communication skills
Self-motivated with a proactive approach

AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
Temporary Works Coordinator experience
CSCS card
Cable avoidance training
