A Site Engineer is needed to lead dedicated project teams providing plant engineering support in the execution of capital projects, equipment improvement, research and support projects to meet the existing and future needs of the company.
Essential candidate background needed
* Qualified to a HNC or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical or Controls Engineering with a minimum of 3 year’s relevant technical experience within an Engineering environment
* Experienced with maintaining compliance with current legislation, code of practice and EHS requirements which may include but is not limited to: High voltage switching, installation inspection, fixed installation testing, lifting equipment and extraction
* Experienced with creating technical solutions and applying them to current equipment to improve reliability and operation availability.
* Ability to identify and solve to root cause, repetitive reliability problems and write maintenance procedures
* Ability to collect and analyse overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) on critical equipment.
* Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Aware of Microsoft Project.
Core responsibilities
* Supervising sub-contractors, ensuring project implementation to time and cost whilst complying with all Company and H&S requirements.
* Identifying, specifying, sourcing, and purchasing machines and equipment.
* Create project plans and carry plans to support machine rearrangement, equipment installation, equipment improvement, building and infrastructure alterations and cost reduction projects.
* Identifying and implementing cost reduction and method improvement opportunities.
* Purchasing parts and equipment for improvement works, collating receipts and raising purchase requisitions.
* Carrying out plant engineering activities, with minimal supervision, across the site including building/electrical infrastructure and manufacturing equipment.
* Providing technical expertise, including data analysis, planning and execution to improve equipment availability and asset utilisation for the site.
* Identifying and making improvements to the reliability of equipment to reduce reoccurring faults and downtime.
* Assisting Maintenance undertaking fault finding across the plant and on the equipment.
* Implementing and driving reliability excellence (REX) on critical equipment.
* Creation and maintenance of technical files for new and existing equipment
