Shop Manager – The Children’s Society
Join us as a Shop Manager at the Ripley shop. The role is a 12‑month fixed‑term contract, ending 4 January 2027, on a secondment basis.
Contract Details
37 hours per week (over 7 days, including Saturdays and Sundays)
£25,760 per annum
Location: Ripley

Role Summary
Lead our team in the Ripley shop, collaborating with donated goods to maximise sales and net contribution. You will manage an Assistant Shop Manager and a volunteer team, ensuring a welcoming and positive environment for staff, volunteers and supporters. Your focus will be on driving sales, building community support, and raising funds for frontline work.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day‑to‑day shop operations and sales activities.
Supervise an Assistant Shop Manager and volunteer staff.
Develop and maintain relationships with the local community to promote the shop.
Ensure compliance with safeguarding and safer recruitment procedures.
Support fundraising objectives for The Children’s Society.
Qualifications & Experience
Retail or management experience.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
People skills and confidence working with diverse groups.
Drive and focus on generating revenue.
