The purpose of this role is to assist in the daily running of the Engineering department, ensuring that all M&C procedures and targets are met. Key responsibilities as a Shift Engineer : Conduct regular inspections of facilities to monitor and maintain systems and equipment. Perform preventive maintenance tasks and repairs on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire safety systems. Minor items only, contractors will be called in when needed. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies to minimize downtime and ensure guest satisfaction. Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and schedule repairs without disrupting guest services. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs with the use of our systems, and inventory of supplies and tools within the department. Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and company policies in all maintenance operations. As a Shift Engineer , the essential skills required: Proven experience as a maintenance engineer or similar role in the hospitality industry. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively. Excellent communication skills to interact with staff, management, and external vendors. Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks efficiently. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed. Relevant certifications or licenses in engineering or maintenance fields are desired.
