Are you a proven Field Service leader ready to take ownership of a national engineering team within a growing, well-established industrial business?


I’m supporting a market leading provider of industrial steam and thermal process equipment in the search for a Field Service Manager - a critical leadership role at the heart of their UK Service Division, supporting a large installed base across multiple industries.


The Role


You’ll lead a UK-wide team of 16–18 Field Service Engineers, driving performance, utilisation and service excellence across a geographically distributed function.


This role sits within the senior UK management team and will play a key part in shaping service delivery, improving processes and supporting continued business growth.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop and manage a national team of Field Service Engineers
  • Drive effective deployment of engineers based on skills, location and customer demand
  • Oversee scheduling to maximise utilisation and service efficiency
  • Monitor KPIs, operational performance and service delivery standards
  • Act as a technical escalation point for complex field issues
  • Ensure high standards of H&S and compliance across all field activities
  • Own performance management, training and ongoing development of engineers
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships, handling escalations when required
  • Work cross-functionally with Sales, Projects and Service teams
  • Drive continuous improvement across service operations


What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in Field Service Management or senior engineering leadership
  • Strong technical background in industrial plant, mechanical systems or process equipment
  • Experience managing geographically dispersed engineering teams
  • Strong organisational and operational leadership capability
  • Commercial awareness with a focus on performance and KPI improvement
  • Confident communicator — able to engage engineers, customers and senior stakeholders
  • Structured, hands-on approach to leadership and problem solving
  • Comfortable working with digital service platforms and reporting tools


Technical Background (Highly Desirable)

Experience in areas such as:

  • Steam boilers / steam generation systems
  • Thermal fluid or heat transfer systems
  • Industrial burners & combustion systems
  • Heat recovery / energy systems
  • PLC, SCADA or boiler management systems
  • Pressure systems / PSSR compliance
  • Industrial water treatment
