Are you a proven Field Service leader ready to take ownership of a national engineering team within a growing, well-established industrial business?
I’m supporting a market leading provider of industrial steam and thermal process equipment in the search for a Field Service Manager - a critical leadership role at the heart of their UK Service Division, supporting a large installed base across multiple industries.
The Role
You’ll lead a UK-wide team of 16–18 Field Service Engineers, driving performance, utilisation and service excellence across a geographically distributed function.
This role sits within the senior UK management team and will play a key part in shaping service delivery, improving processes and supporting continued business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, develop and manage a national team of Field Service Engineers
- Drive effective deployment of engineers based on skills, location and customer demand
- Oversee scheduling to maximise utilisation and service efficiency
- Monitor KPIs, operational performance and service delivery standards
- Act as a technical escalation point for complex field issues
- Ensure high standards of H&S and compliance across all field activities
- Own performance management, training and ongoing development of engineers
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships, handling escalations when required
- Work cross-functionally with Sales, Projects and Service teams
- Drive continuous improvement across service operations
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in Field Service Management or senior engineering leadership
- Strong technical background in industrial plant, mechanical systems or process equipment
- Experience managing geographically dispersed engineering teams
- Strong organisational and operational leadership capability
- Commercial awareness with a focus on performance and KPI improvement
- Confident communicator — able to engage engineers, customers and senior stakeholders
- Structured, hands-on approach to leadership and problem solving
- Comfortable working with digital service platforms and reporting tools
Technical Background (Highly Desirable)
Experience in areas such as:
- Steam boilers / steam generation systems
- Thermal fluid or heat transfer systems
- Industrial burners & combustion systems
- Heat recovery / energy systems
- PLC, SCADA or boiler management systems
- Pressure systems / PSSR compliance
- Industrial water treatment
