Senior Town Planner

Location: London

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well established and growing planning consultancy in their search for a Senior Town Planner to join their London office.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Town Planner to take on a key role within a collaborative and ambitious team, working on a diverse portfolio of projects across the residential, commercial, mixed use and strategic development sectors.

The Role

As a Senior Town Planner, you will be responsible for managing planning projects from inception through to determination, providing high quality planning advice to clients and supporting the wider planning team.

Key responsibilities will include:

Managing and delivering planning applications and appeals of varying scale and complexity

Preparing planning statements, appeals, site appraisals and policy representations

Liaising with local planning authorities, consultees and key stakeholders

Providing strategic planning advice to clients throughout the development process

Mentoring and supporting junior planners

Assisting with business development and maintaining strong client relationships

About You

To be successful in this Senior Town Planner role, you will ideally have:

A degree or postgraduate qualification in Town Planning or a related discipline

MRTPI status (or working towards)

Proven experience within a planning consultancy or local authority

Strong knowledge of the UK planning system

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

A proactive and commercially aware approach
