Team / Directorate: Water Regulatory Approaches Team/ Evidence, Policy and Permitting

Starting salary: £52,268 rising to £57,726 per annum through annual increments being paid each year (pro rata for part time applicants)

Contract type: 12 months from appointment date

Work pattern: Full time, 37 hours per week (Part time, annualised hours, compressed hours or term time working considered - discussions at interview stage welcome)

The role

In This Role You Will

be a lead regulatory expert and apply knowledge of environmental regulation across multiple regimes.

be the expert lead for delivering regulatory projects such as feeding into the development of new legislation and understanding the potential impacts to NRW.

Work with others to develop processes and tools relevant to multiple regulatory regimes.

Support decision making by contributing at cross functional governance groups.

Support other teams across the department with work planning activities.

As an organisation we support flexible working. You will be contracted to the nearest NRW office to your home and a suitable hybrid working pattern will be agreed on appointment. Any regular face to face meetings or training will be planned in advance.

Interviews will take place through Microsoft Teams

Successful applicants will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS) check. Appointments are normally made within 4 to 8 weeks of the closing date.

About Us

This Senior Specialist Advisor, Regulatory Approaches role sits within NRW's Water Quality Regulatory Approaches Team in Evidence, Permitting and Policy.

This role supports strategic working across the Regulatory Approaches and Policy teams, making connections and applying best regulatory practice.
