We are a busy, well-loved country pub with a strong local reputation for quality food, warm hospitality, and a welcoming atmosphere. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a talented and reliable *Sous Chef* to join our kitchen team full-time.
About the Role
As Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to deliver consistently high standards across our seasonal, fresh-food menu. This is a hands-on position in a fast-paced but supportive environment, ideal for someone who is passionate about quality ingredients and traditional pub classics with a modern twist.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen
* Leading the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence
* Maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene
* Assisting with menu development and seasonal specials
* Managing stock control, ordering, and reducing waste
* Training and mentoring junior kitchen staff
* Ensuring compliance with all food safety and health & safety regulations
About You
* Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef ready to step up
* Solid background in fresh food and traditional pub cuisine
* Calm under pressure with strong organisational skills
* A positive leader who motivates and supports the team
* Level 2 Food Hygiene (minimum)
* Passionate about delivering great food and great service
