Senior Solutions Engineer - Cheshire or Edinburgh

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer to work for our client within the insurance sector. This is initially a 12-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in Cheshire or Edinburgh.
Our client is seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer to design, implement, and optimise technology solutions that address complex business challenges. This role demands a skilled problem-solver with a strong technical background in Microsoft technologies and a passion for delivering impactful solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop innovative solutions using Microsoft technologies (e.g., Azure, .NET, Power Platform, Microsoft 365) to meet business requirements
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including architects, developers, and stakeholders, to deliver high-quality solutions
- Act as a technical expert, providing guidance and troubleshooting support to ensure the success of solution implementation
- Optimise the performance and scalability of solutions through proactive testing, monitoring, and continuous improvement
- Contribute to the development of technical standards, best practices, and documentation
- Stay informed about emerging technologies and recommend improvements to existing systems and processes
- Support integration efforts and ensure seamless interaction between systems, applications, and third-party tools
- Mentor junior engineers and support their technical growth
Requirements
- Strong experience in designing and implementing solutions using Microsoft technologies (Azure, .NET framework, Microsoft 365, and Power Platform)
- Proficiency in cloud computing, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipeline implementation
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse and address complex technical issues
- Proven track record in working within agile and collaborative development environments
- Strong understanding of security, compliance, and regulatory considerations in solution design
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Background in pensions or relevant industries
- Experience with data integration, analytics, and business intelligence solutions
- Certification in Microsoft technologies, such as Azure Developer Associate or similar
