Python Engineer (Core Trading Platform | Front Office)£80,000-£120,000 base salary plus strong packageLondon - HybridWe’re hiring Python Engineers to join a front office-facing platform build within a tier-one financial services organisation - this is a greenfield platform in a high-growth area of the business, focused on scaling core trading workflows, data, and automation across multiple teams.The roleYou’ll be working on a backend-heavy platform that underpins pricing, workflows, and trade data across the business. The system is being rolled out more broadly, with a focus on improving visibility, reducing manual processes, and creating a single, scalable platform.The work is strongly focused on Python and system design, building production-grade services rather than lightweight scripting.What you’ll be doingBuilding and evolving backend services in Python within a distributed systemWorking on data-intensive workflows and messaging-driven architecturesContributing to a platform designed as a single source of truth across teamsAutomating manual processes and enabling faster product and workflow rolloutCollaborating closely with engineers and front office usersTech environmentPython (core focus), some Java and React (experience not essential)Messaging systems and distributed architecturesMongoDB (core data store), some OracleWhat we’re looking forStrong Python backend engineering experience in production environmentsExperience building and operating complex, business-critical systemsSolid understanding of system design, data flows, and distributed systemsComfortable working in evolving platforms with multiple stakeholdersFinancial services experience is helpful but not required if candidates can show a genuine interest and conceptual understandingLocationHybrid working (London-based, with 3 days in office required)Contract typePermanent or contract (inside IR35) options availableIf you’re an experienced, Python focused engineer looking to work on a major project for a tier one investment bank, apply now. #J-18808-Ljbffr
