Senior Software Engineer | Payments | C# .NET | AWS | Low-Latency Systems | Trading Environment | Greenfield Projects | 120,000 | London (Hybrid)

I’m currently hiring for a leading trading firm that is building out a brand-new, fully greenfield payments platform. This is a rare opportunity to join a high-performance engineering team at the early stages of a major build, working on low-latency, high-throughput payment services that sit at the core of the firm’s trading operations.

The business is investing heavily in modernising its payments architecture, with all new development built in C# .NET and deployed on AWS. The focus is on speed, scalability, and resilience—designing systems capable of handling high transaction volumes with minimal latency and maximum reliability. You’ll work closely with traders, quants, and senior engineers to help shape the next generation of the firm’s payments infrastructure.

As a Mid-Level Software Engineer, you will design and build new microservices, drive architectural decisions, and take ownership of key components across the payments lifecycle, including authorisation, routing, reconciliation, and settlement—all within a performance-critical trading environment.

Salary: Up to £120,000 + Benefits

❗ What We’re Looking For:

• 4–5+ years’ experience as a Software Engineer in a C# .NET environment

• Strong experience building low-latency, high-throughput distributed systems

• Hands-on AWS experience (Lambda, ECS, DynamoDB, SQS/SNS, API Gateway, etc.)

• Proven experience within the payments domain—card payments, cross-border, settlements, routing, merchant acquiring, etc.

• Exposure to trading, financial markets, or performance-critical systems (preferred)

• Strong understanding of system design, event-driven architecture & microservices

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

• Ability to thrive in a greenfield environment with autonomy and ownership
