Senior Backend Engineer
Series-A Fintech AI Startup
London | Hybrid
£100k–£200k base (depending on experience)
$160k equity over 4 years (vesting annually)

Join a rapidly growing, product-focused company designing core backend systems for high-stakes financial applications. After a successful Series A, the team is scaling an elite engineering unit responsible for owning critical systems end-to-end. This is real software, real customers, real influence.
You’ll collaborate directly with the founders no bureaucracy, no slow approvals, no endless hand-offs. Decisions are fast, feedback is instant, and growth is accelerated. What you’ll do:
Design and implement scalable backend APIs and services using Python (FastAPI/Django)
Build robust, large-scale data pipelines for financial systems
Ensure secure, compliant, production-ready infrastructure
Partner with ML engineers to deploy models into production
Who succeeds here:
Professional backend experience with full production ownership.
Advanced Python skills, database expertise, experience with async processing and distributed systems.
Comfortable in cloud environments (AWS/Azure), containerization (Docker/K8s), CI/CD pipelines.
Thrives in autonomous, ambiguous, high-impact environments.
