Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Site Manager to lead the site team and oversee day-to-day activities on a live, high-value construction project. This role requires a strong leader who can take ownership of planning, quality, health & safety, and the coordination of works on site.\n\nWorking closely with the Project Manager, you will play a key role in mapping out works to ensure delivery in a safe, efficient, and well-coordinated manner.\n\nSalary & Package\n\nSalary up to £70,000, depending on experience\n\nCar allowance or Company Vehicle\n\n26 holidays + bank holidays\nBusiness Travel Expenses\nPension\nEmployee benefits\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nHealth & Safety\n\nTake full ownership of Health & Safety management on site\n\nEnsure all company procedures and site-specific policies are followed\n\nLead and manage all H&S actions and initiatives on site\n\nPromote a strong "don't walk by" culture, challenging unsafe practices\n\nLead by example and drive a positive safety culture\n\nQuality Assurance\n\nTake overall responsibility for Quality Assurance on site\n\nEnsure QA procedures and policies are fully implemented and adhered to\n\nChallenge poor-quality workmanship and ensure standards are met\n\nMaintain accurate and up-to-date QA records\n\nReview design drawings and check compliance with specifications, contracts, and agreed details\n\nSite Management\n\nWork with the Project Manager to produce weekly work plans\n\nLead site logistics and coordination with other trades and contractors\n\nManage labour and subcontractor performance\n\nSupport, direct, and develop the wider site team\n\nAssist with programme development and delivery\n\nChair and lead contractor meetings\n\nAttend client meetings and provide clear progress updates\n\nReport progress, risks, and issues to the Project Manager\n\nEnsure site safety and standards are consistently maintained\n\nCascade information effectively to site teams and ensure it is documented\n\nProactively problem-solve and manage challenges as they arise\n\nMentor and develop junior members of staff\n\nEnsure all works and site activities are recorded on internal systems\n\nWork closely with M&E and Design Managers to ensure continuity from design through to construction\n\nContribute to scope reviews, preambles, pre-let meetings, and orders alongside the commercial team\n\nCommercial\n\nWork closely with the Quantity Surveying team to ensure accurate cost reporting\n\nUnderstand and manage contractual obligations across the supply chain\n\nRequirements\n\nSMSTS, First Aid, CSCS Management Card, and Temporary Works Coordinator certification\n\nMinimum of 4 years' experience as a Senior Site Manager on high-value, multi-room projects\n\nProven experience managing site teams and subcontractors\n\nStrong commercial awareness\n\nAbility to provide references from previous multi-room projects\n\nPersonal Attributes\n\nStrong communication and leadership skills\n\nExcellent time management and organisational ability\n\nTakes pride in delivering high standards across all aspects of the role\n\nFlexible approach to working hours, with some stages requiring longer days\n\nGood IT literacy\n\nStrong conflict resolution and people management skills
