We’re seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Risk & Compliance Manager to lead and evolve a first-line risk and compliance function within a growing financial services organisation.

This is a senior leadership role where you’ll shape and embed risk frameworks, drive regulatory compliance, and act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders. You’ll play a key role in strengthening risk maturity, supporting business growth, and ensuring the organisation operates within its regulatory obligations.

What you’ll be doing:

Strategic Risk Leadership

• Lead the design and implementation of risk and compliance frameworks
• Translate enterprise risk strategy into practical controls and actions
• Provide expert insight and challenge to senior stakeholders

Risk Identification & Assessment

• Oversee enterprise-wide risk identification processes
• Lead and evolve Risk & Control Self-Assessments (RCSA)
• Identify trends, control gaps, and emerging risks

Compliance & Regulatory Oversight

• Provide clear, pragmatic guidance on regulatory requirements
• Ensure alignment with FCA/PRA and other applicable regulations
• Lead responses to audits, reviews, and regulatory engagement

Regulatory Change & Horizon Scanning

• Assess and implement regulatory changes
• Conduct horizon scanning and impact analysis
• Support strategic planning and business readiness

Governance & Reporting

• Deliver high-quality reporting to executive and board committees
• Provide insight to support decision-making and risk oversight

Leadership & Culture

• Lead and develop a high-performing risk and compliance team
• Embed a strong risk-aware culture across the organisation
• Coach and influence stakeholders at all levels

Change & Transformation

• Ensure risk and compliance are embedded in transformation programmes
• Provide oversight of risks associated with change initiatives

About you:

You’ll be a confident and credible risk professional with strong leadership experience and the ability to operate at a strategic level.

Key skills & experience:

• Significant experience in risk, compliance, or governance roles within financial services
• Strong knowledge of FCA/PRA regulations and regulatory frameworks
• Experience designing and embedding risk and compliance frameworks
• Proven ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach
• Experience leading teams and building capability
• Ability to translate complex regulation into practical business solutions
