Senior Residential Childcare Support Workers
to join a therapeutic childrens home in Mansfield, supporting young people with emotional and behavioural needs, developmental trauma and attachment difficulties. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will support young people directly while also guiding, mentoring and role-modelling best practice for the wider staff team. The Young People Youll Support
The children and young people living in the home have often experienced significant adversity and trauma. At times, this may present through heightened behaviours or emotional distress. These moments require patience, consistency and a calm, confident approach. As a Senior Residential Childcare Support Worker, you will play a vital role in: Providing emotional containment and stability for young people
Modelling therapeutic responses for colleagues
Supporting staff to feel confident and supported during challenging situations
You will use therapeutic approaches such as
PACE
and
Dyadic Developmental Practice (DDP)
to help young people feel safe, valued and understood. Salary & Sleep-Ins
Base salary:
£33,500
£36,500 (includes
2 contracted sleep-ins per month )
Sleep-in rate:
£60 per additional sleep-in
Typical sleep-ins worked:
56 per month
Realistic total earnings:
£36,380
£39,380 per annum (depending on qualifications)

Key Responsibilities
Lead shifts and ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the home
Maintain a safe, structured and nurturing environment
Coach, mentor and support Residential Support Workers
Embed trauma-informed and therapeutic practice into daily care
Complete and review care plans, risk assessments and key documentation
Support reflective practice and post-incident debriefs
Build positive relationships with families, professionals and external agencies
What Were Looking For
Minimum
2 years experience
in residential childcare, including shift leadership
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare
(or equivalent)

DDP trained, or willing to complete training during probation
Strong safeguarding knowledge and confidence in managing concerns
Calm, resilient and reflective leadership style
Essential Requirements
Minimum age
22
(in line with Ofsted regulations)
Right to work in the UK
Full manual UK driving licence
Good standard of spoken and written English
Willingness to undergo an
Enhanced DBS check
