Were looking for a Senior Residential Care Practitioner to join a warm, supportive 2-bed childrens home in Derby, where your leadership and care will make a lasting difference in young peoples lives.
The Role
As a Senior Residential Care Practitioner, youll play a key role in delivering high-quality, therapeutic care while supporting and guiding your team on shift.
You will:
- Lead shifts and support the day-to-day running of the home
- Provide a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for young people
- Support, mentor, and guide junior staff members
- Contribute to care planning and risk assessments
- Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people
- Promote independence, resilience, and emotional wellbeing
What Were Looking For
- Minimum 1 years experience managing or leading a team within childrens residential care
- Strong knowledge of residential childcare practices and safeguarding
- Relevant childcare qualification (as per regulatory requirements)
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Passion, resilience, and a genuine commitment to improving young lives
Working Pattern:
This is a full-time role based on a structured rota:
- 56.4 hours per week (including sleep-ins)
- Shift pattern: 08:00 xbpsjku 11:00 (following day) with sleep-in and handover
- 3-week rolling rota, averaging 10 shifts per month
- Includes training, meetings, and development hours (approx. 244.5 hours per month)
