Starting Salary: £38,683.63 (rising after 6-month probation)

Are you an experienced residential childcare professional ready to take the next step in your career? Were looking for a Senior Residential Care Practitioner to join a warm, supportive 2-bed childrens home in Derby, where your leadership and care will make a lasting difference in young peoples lives.

As a Senior Residential Care Practitioner, youll play a key role in delivering high-quality, therapeutic care while supporting and guiding your team on shift.

You will:

• Lead shifts and support the day-to-day running of the home
• Provide a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for young people
• Support, mentor, and guide junior staff members
• Contribute to care planning and risk assessments
• Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people
• Promote independence, resilience, and emotional wellbeing

• Minimum 1 years experience managing or leading a team within childrens residential care
• Strong knowledge of residential childcare practices and safeguarding
• Relevant childcare qualification (as per regulatory requirements)
• Full UK driving licence (essential)
• Passion, resilience, and a genuine commitment to improving young lives

This is a full-time role based on a structured rota:

• 56.4 hours per week (including sleep-ins)
• Shift pattern: 08:00 xbpsjku 11:00 (following day) with sleep-in and handover
• 3-week rolling rota, averaging 10 shifts per month
• Includes training, meetings, and development hours (approx. 244.5 hours per month)
