Senior Regulatory Specialist

New Yesterday

Job Description

Senior Regulatory Consultant - 3 days on site, 2 days from home - must be UK based.

I’m working on a confidential search with a well-established and growing chemical distribution and manufacturing business. They operate across multiple sectors offering breadth of exposure and experience from chemicals to healthcare products.

This is a position where you will help shape and strengthen the regulatory function across the business.

The Role

You’ll sit within Quality & Compliance, taking ownership of regulatory activity across both distribution and manufacturing operations.

Key areas include:

  • Acting as a go-to expert on UK & EU chemical regulations (REACH, CLP and beyond)
  • Ensuring product compliance across multiple sectors including personal care, food and performance chemicals
  • Preparing and maintaining regulatory dossiers (including IUCLID where required)
  • Supporting product onboarding from a compliance perspective
  • Working closely with commercial teams to support new product and market opportunities
  • Handling technical and regulatory queries from customers and suppliers
  • Identifying regulatory risks and gaps — then actually doing something about them
  • Supporting wider quality activities including documentation, investigations and process improvement

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Around 3+ years in a chemical regulatory role
  • Strong working knowledge of REACH and CLP (non-negotiable)
  • Experience within ingredients, chemicals, or manufacturing environments
  • Exposure to cosmetics, food or related regulatory frameworks
  • SDS authoring experience
  • Ideally some exposure to IUCLID / dossier preparation

On top of that:

  • You can prioritise — this role will get busy
  • You can explain regulation to non-regulatory people (this matters more than people admit)
  • You’re structured, proactive and not waiting to be told what to do

Why This Role

This a good opportunity for someone who’s outgrown being a “support function” and wants more ownership.

  • You’ll have visibility across the business
  • You’ll influence regulatory direction, not just follow it
  • You’ll work across multiple sectors (not stuck in one niche)
  • You’ll be part of a business that actually values compliance commercially, not just as a tick-box
