️ Senior Quantity Surveyor – Residential Developer (Aberdeen-Based)

As they continue to grow, they’re now looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to be based from their Aberdeen office, managing residential developments stretching from the North of Dundee to Elgin.

The Role

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you’ll be a key commercial lead on a range of new build housing projects, ensuring strong cost control, commercial reporting, and subcontractor management from pre-construction through to final account.

You’ll work closely with the Commercial Manager and regional leadership team, contributing to procurement strategy, cost planning, and driving best value across all stages of the development cycle.

Key Responsibilities

Full commercial management of residential developments across the North East

*

Prepare and manage accurate cost plans, budgets, and valuations

*

Procurement of subcontractors and materials

*

Monitor and control project costs to ensure profitability

*

Prepare and agree interim valuations, final accounts, and variations

*

Work closely with site teams, technical teams, and external consultants

*

Report monthly on cost/value reconciliations and forecasting

*

Ensure compliance with contractual terms and risk management

Requirements

✅ Proven experience in a Quantity Surveyor or Senior QS role within housebuilding

✅ Strong understanding of residential construction and subcontractor packages

✅ Knowledge of JCT contracts and cost control systems

✅ Confident communicator with excellent commercial acumen

✅ Full UK driving licence – travel to developments will be required

✅ Based in or willing to relocate to Aberdeen
